week 3 - Novelty, Creativity, Innovation and Invention

This week lecture is about novelty, creativity, innovation and invention. At first I was not quite understand what is the term 'novelty' about. But after the lecture, I understand more about these less known terms that are often used in design industry.

Novelty
Novelty can be defined as the quality of being new and fresh and interesting. It is something original or unusual that is not derived from something else.

Creativity
Creativity is the process of being creative. It involves the process of generating new idea or concept, or new associations of the existing ideas or concepts.

Innovation
Innovation could be a new idea, method or device. To me, innovation is a process to improve the product's performance and make it more useful so that it could solve a problem.
